If you use Personal Budgets (PB) or Personal Health Budgets (PHB) to help your clients, then a WashPod™ modular disabled wetroom can easily be rented at only £225 a week to transform their lives at home and improve many medical outcomes.

For those unfamiliar, in addition to the Disabled Facilities Grant that is managed by the Local Authority’s Housing Department, there are also two other related but separate funding mechanisms that could be used to rent a WashPod™.

  1. Personal Budgets (PB) – funded by local authority social care
  2. Personal Health Budgets (PHB) – funded by the NHS

They operate under different legislation, oversight structures, and eligibility rules, although they can sometimes be combined into an Integrated Personal Budget.

A Personal Budget is the amount of money a local council allocates to meet an individual’s eligible social care needs after an assessment to support daily living and social care needs.

Examples of what it might fund:

  • Personal assistants or carers
  • Home care visits
  • Day centre services
  • Equipment or home adaptations (eg WashPods™)
  • Respite care
  • Support to access community activities

A Personal Health Budget is an amount of NHS funding allocated to meet an individual’s health and wellbeing needs.

Examples of what it can fund:

  • Personal healthcare assistants
  • Specialist Equipment (such as a WashPod™)
  • Therapies
  • Rehabilitation support
  • Care packages for complex health conditions

The availability of WashPods™ on a rental basis is perfect in providing a rapid washing solution as they require no adaptations, a effectively plug ‘n play, and can be installed in a day or less, depending on the model.
