While there’s some amazing room design technology out there, sometimes just putting yourself in the space and using your imagination is all you need. This is exactly what our innovative stencil-set helps to provide. Our site survey team now carry a stencil for each model of WashPod which they can lay out on the ground, not only for their own information gathering but also for the client’s. If the space allows, this can be in situ but if the planned installation area is full of furniture, it can still be used in the garden, for example, to allow a would-be user to ‘try-out’ the WashPod for size.
This was certainly helpful for wheelchair-user, Ian, at his home in Leeds recently. The stencil was for an Internal Compact WashPod and it allowed Ian to try the turning circle and imagine orientating himself in the space before it was installed.
His OT, Sarah Ellis, said “the stencil has allowed us all to get a real feel for the space needed. It also allowed us to place the template in two different directions to calculate which would have the least impact on blocking light into the kitchen window. It was really useful to work with.’
